My current work can be described as the culmination of a very loose and playful process. My methodology has a great deal to do with the fact that I'm not a natural storyteller. I have therefore opted to pick out the bits of memory that float to the surface from the depths of my Christian upbringing, and then I allow myself to play freely with the associations that come to mind. The resulting images are a mixure of childlike scenery and more developed subjects.
This current body of work concentrates on an apocalyptic landscape with a focus on environmental change.
Ruth Marsh is a graduate of NSCAD University . She is currently working in Halifax Nova Scotia , painting primarily in encaustic.
